Dallas Can Academies recently hosted its annual Dallas Can Cares for Kids Golf Classic at Prestonwood Country Club.  The Tournament benefited the students who attend the six dropout recovery high school campuses in the Dallas area. The annual fundraiser offered businesses and community members a chance to enjoy 18-holes of golf while also contributing to this non-profit organization that is changing lives everyday by providing the education and support needed to help their students graduate from high school.

Former Dallas Cowboy and Super Bowl Champion, Tony Casillas, was the Honorary Chair. Steve Dennis and Mark Friedman, "Dennis & Friedo," with ESPN Radio broadcasted live from the event. Mike Snyder was the emcee of the awards ceremony and dinner at the end of tournament play.

“The Dallas Can Golf Classic is an important fundraising effort for our Dallas Can Academies,” said Richard Marquez, president and CEO of Texans Can Academies. “We are thrilled that our tournament has become an event to look forward to and honored and humbled by the commitment of support to our students from our sponsors and players.”

Dallas Can believes providing a strong education to graduate thinkers is the foundation for breaking the cycle of generational poverty and illiteracy. Through its parent organization, Texans Can Academies, more than 130,000 students have been given a second chance at life with the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
