What’s good for Austin is good for Dallas/Fort Worth, right?

That’s what a company called Hooch is thinking right now. Hooch is the first ever members-only cocktail App where members can take advantage of one free cocktail every day while discovering new bars and restaurants in their city.

“We had such a great reception at our Austin launch during SxSW and saw firsthand how passionate our Texas members are,” said Hooch CEO Lin Dai. “Dallas/Fort Worth being a large metropolitan area in Texas with such a diverse food and drink culture, it was an easy decision to build on the momentum and launch Dallas shortly after SxSW.”

Dai said there are so many great restaurants and bars throughout Dallas that “it's hard to know where to go even if you are an 'in-the-know' local,” but with Hooch you have a list that has already been curated for you, offering great venues for members to experience.

“Not only established venues,” Dai said, “but also fresh new concepts on the scene — and the best part, you can try from one of the featured cocktails for free at any of these locations.”

OK, so that’s 30 different drinks, or 30 of the same drinks at the same venue if you like, for less than $10 a month.

In Dallas, Dai said there are already close to 30 venues that are on the list, and new ones are being added weekly.

Joining Hooch costs $9.99 a month. Once at a Hooch partner venue, you then select from one of the three featured cocktails for that particular venue, show the redemption screen on the App to the bartender, and enjoy.

“Bartenders from our partner venues are trained to recognize the screen and they will confirm the complimentary drink in the App and make you the delicious cocktail you selected,” Dai said. “Once you redeem your choice of drink for the day, the App will not allow you to redeem another drink until the next day, so you stay and enjoy additional offerings from our partner venue at regular price.”

Dai said there are more than one million adults that live in the Dallas Fort-Worth area who drink at least once a week at a bar or restaurant. He thinks that makes this a winning situation for everyone.

“Dallas has many thriving neighborhoods and we have great partner venues for our launch in Lower Greenville, Deep Ellum, Bishop Arts. We are actively expanding into additional neighborhoods in Dallas as well as Fort Worth,” Dai said.

Even better, there are almost 200 venues worldwide. Hooch has a presence in Los Angeles, New York and Austin and will be expanding to San Francisco, Miami and Hong Kong soon.

If you are in a participating city while traveling, you can use your membership there, too.

“We already did all the leg work of selecting and curating a list of great bars and restaurants in cities you may not be familiar with — all you have to do is open our App and explore the city and try a free drink wherever you go,” Dai concluded.

The HOOCH app is available for free download in the Apple App Store and on Google Play.
