West Virginia University's Athletic Director Oliver Luck will be the keynote speaker of the annual Bishop Dunne 100 Dinner to be held at the Hilton Anatole on October 22.

Luck is on the new College Football Playoff Selection Committee which meets throughout the fall at NCAA headquarters to determine which football teams should play for a National Championship on January 1, 2015. Chaired by Jeff Long, Director of Athletics at Arkansas, the committee includes star quarterback Archie Manning, a University of Mississippi legend and former NFL quarterback now living in New Orleans and Condoleezza Rice, Former U.S. National Security Advisor and Secretary of State and graduate of the University of Denver and The University of Notre Dame.

Valedictorian of St. Ignatius Catholic High School in Cleveland before playing at WVU on a full scholarship, Luck broke records on the football field while earning a 4.0 GPA and was a finalist for a Rhodes scholarship before being chosen to play for the Houston Oilers in the second round of the NFL draft. He earned his law degree from The University of Texas in Austin during his summers off from his play in the NFL. His son, Andrew Luck, graduated from Stanford and was the #1 draft pick two years ago in 2012, and is the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts.

"We wanted people of the highest integrity for this committee, and we got them. Every one of them has vast football knowledge, excellent judgment, dedication and love for this game," said Bill Hancock last October, Executive Director of the College Football Playoff in USA Today, while announcing the 13 members of the committee.” He continues, “They will no doubt have one of the hardest jobs in sports. But their skills and wide variety of experiences — from coaches and athletes to university leaders and journalists — will ensure that they will be successful. And they are committed to investing the time and effort necessary for this endeavor. We are grateful that they will be serving this terrific game of college football."

Bishop Dunne is located in Oak Cliff and the annual dinner raises funds for tuition assistance for its students to gain a quality education. Virtually 100% of Dunne graduates are accepted to college. Eleven of its 2014 graduates earned full scholarships to college including Notre Dame, Brown, and Texas Tech.
