In a game that saw more bizarre football than all the other games combined this season, the Bishop Lynch Friars were able to pour on the points and take down TCA, 62-49 on Senior Night at Roffino Stadium.  Perhaps it was Halloween night that put the odd vibe in the air, but something was amiss early Friday when there were two touchdowns scored before the 9:00 mark of the 1st Quarter. In all, the first frame saw six touchdowns and only the Friars electing to take the end of the quarter with the ball prevented a seventh.

Offensively, the Friars continued to roll on as the area's leading ground unit, rushing for 460 yards on the ground vs the Trojans.  Senior RB Rawleigh Williams III ran for 322 yards and five TDs, while Junior QB Tristan Smith added 63 yards and three TDs.  Sophomore RB Jermaine Mask, the heir-apparent to Williams III, ran for 57 yards on 12 carries as well. Smith managed a great game as well, completing seven of eight passes for 73 yards, and one TD to senior WR Joseph Gannon.  Senior WR Nick Martinez had five more tough receptions as well.

This was the highest scoring output for the Friars since 2007, when the Friars defeated JPII, 83-0.

On the defensive side of the ball, Junior Gabe Brace set a school record for total sacks in a season, breaking the record held by former Friar Dion Chidozie in 2008, who went on to play at Texas Tech University.  Junior Titus Beacham added another interception to his team-leading total, returning it 31 yards to put the Friars in position to score another touchdown.  All told, the Friars won their sixth game of the year, which is twice as many games as they won last year.

Next Friday, the Football team closes out its regular season against Plano Prestonwood next Friday in Plano.  The game is set to kick-off at 7:30 pm from Lion Stadium
