Texans Can Academies received a $12,000 grant from a group of nonprofit agencies to implement a mural program over the next two years at four of their Dallas campuses.  Student artists worked with their art teachers to design and create murals at their respoective schools last spring and into the summer.  The murals are painted on the walls of four Dallas Can Academy campuses as a permanent work of art.

The Oak Cliff campus mural will be unveiled on October 23 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in celebration of the nation's 15th annual Lights on Afterschool Day which is a nationwide event organized by nonprofit group, Afterschool Alliance, celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities.
