Science Evangelist Dr. Ainissa Ramirez Coming To Oak Cliff's Bishop Dunne Friday

Dr. Ainissa Ramirez is a science evangelist who is dedicated to making science fun for people of all ages. She is the author of the TED book "Save our Science" and co-author of "Newton’s Football" (published by Random House) with Allen St. John.  She will be speaking at Bishop Dunne on September 12.

Ramirez has been a visiting professor at MIT, and from 2003 to 2011 was an associate professor in the Mechanical and Materials Science Department at Yale University. Prior to being on the faculty at Yale, she was a member of the technical staff at Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies.
 
She developed a "universal soldier" that can bond metal to glass, ceramics, diamond, and semiconductor oxide substrates.
