 lores the Mayan cultural traditions around the Solar Equinox including the
  “descent of the serpent\,” the great god Kukulcan or feathered serpent\,
  in the form of shadows on the Temple of Kukulcan at Chichen Itza\, an arc
 heological site in the Mexican state of Yucatan. \n“I hope to share with m
 ore people this important Mexican and Central American cultural heritage a
 nd its celebration of the indigenous traditions and to increase public kno
 wledge of the long history of the indigenous peoples among all of us today
  whether they be descendants of the Mayans\, descendants of Mexican and Ce
 ntral American immigrants\, recent immigrants\, or descendants of other pe
 oples around the world. History is written by the winners\, but the storie
 s of the "losers" of history have wisdom and meaning for all of us\,” said
  Mr. Alarcón. \nEach Saturday of the exhibit (March 11 and March 18) will
  include music\, dancing\, and demonstrations of the Mayan ball game. The
