AMOC Parking Lott Series: "Tether" a unique, COVID-safe, live dance performance by Agora Artists

Dancers Turn Arts Mission Oak Cliff Parking Lot Into Innovative Space for Live Community Performances

“Tether” Explores Relationship During Social Upheaval

DALLAS - (September 14, 2020)  Agora Artists and Arts Mission Oak Cliff (AMOC) have partnered to present a unique, COVID-safe, live dance performance in the church’s parking lot where patrons can enjoy local art from the safety of their vehicles. This is the first event as part of the AMOC Parking Lott Series.

About the Performance

Five local performers navigate the parking lot while tethered by rope, as the piece explores themes of relationship, communication, and allyship in a time when systemic racism is challenged and physical contact is restricted. The performers are entangled in a web of connection and must confront their individual truths. How does one’s personal history influence her role in the current movements? How do we communicate with each other, directly and indirectly, as we walk through the world?

Performers will wear protective gear and music will be transmitted through the radio so audience members can enjoy the entire event from the comfort of their cars.
