“Somewhere along the line, people started believing that exercise had to be hard work,” said Anytime Fitness co-owner Renee Reed.  “That’s simply not true.  Many forms of exercise, especially outdoors on a beautiful spring day, will leave you laughing and feeling awesome – and we aim to prove it.”

The 5 consecutive “May Free Workouts” (May 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30) will be led by personal trainers who are gym staff members, and they are designed for people of every fitness level.  The workouts will feature common exercises like squats, planks, medicine ball slams, and more, but also fun, creative activities and team-building events.  Everyone in the neighborhood is invited to participate.  You don’t need to be a member of Anytime Fitness to join in the fun.

“We’ve recently developed new fitness programs and a mobile app to help our members stay active whether they’re at the gym, in their homes, or anywhere else,” said Reed.   “The May Free Workouts are another example of our firm belief that there are countless ways to lead a healthy lifestyle.  You just need to find activities that are right for you – and we’d love to help you do it.”

The May Free Workouts concept, inspired by the grassroots efforts of a few Anytime Fitness clubs that regularly offer free outdoor “boot camps,” has grown into a nationwide campaign to promote physical fitness. The Anytime Fitness gym in Dallas Bishop Arts is one of approximately 1,000 Anytime Fitness clubs across the United States that will host the free outdoor exercise sessions this year.
