Free music concert Monday April 29, 2024, at 7 p.m. at On the Levee 1108 Quaker St. 75207. “An Evening of Music” features local musicians, Augustine “Tino” Jalomo, KJ Gray, Ginny Robinson, KJ Gray, Daniella Salazar, Luis Salazar, and Ethan Worland singing classical, pop, and musical theater selections. The event is free and generously supported by The James and Gayle Halperin Foundation, St. Jude Chapel, Michael Cohen, John Martin, Kathleen Kearney, Susan and Richard Tulli, and On the Levee.
“I miss performing,” says Augustine Jalomo, who currently serves as the City of Dallas Arts Commissioner for District One. “I did a free concert a few years ago and invited some of the musicians who serve at St. Jude Chapel to consider participating. The only caveat was I requested they do music that they have always wanted to do; it did not have to be religious in nature. It was so much fun that I decided, let’s do it again! For this concert, I invited members of the community who have a love and passion for music such as Ian Derrer, Eric Folkerth, Kamica King, Quincy Roberts, and Scott Rudes. I also wanted to make sure we did it during Dallas Arts Month.
Many of the musicians have shared their gifts at St. Jude Chapel, a Catholic chapel located in downtown Dallas on Main Street. There will be solos and duets and a spotlight on the guitar. This evening of music is especially for trying new things and taking risks. I am fortunate to be able to share the stage with such remarkable individuals” concludes Jalomo who also serves as the general manager of St. Jude Chapel.
The event is free, open to the public and for one night only Monday, April 29 at 7 p.m. at On the Levee located at 1108 Quaker Street, 75207. For more information on St. Jude Chapel, visit www.stjudechapel.org.
