Bishop Dunne Falcons Return to TAPPS State Championship Game for Second Year in a Row

Bishop Dunne Catholic School is undefeated for the first time since 1990 and will return to the TAPPS Division I State Championship game for the second straight year. The Falcon football team is now 13-0 after beating the St. Pius Panthers of Houston 38-21 on November 28, 2015, in Manor, Texas.

Senior quarterback Caleb Evans was 16 for 28 with 183 yards and three passing touchdowns. On the ground, Evans rushed for 114 yards and one touchdown. Evans connected with junior Reggie Roberson, who led the team with five receptions, senior Chandler Rashbrook, and junior Jacques Hawkins for touchdowns. Junior Mene Khepera was responsible for the other Falcon rushing touchdown.

The Bishop Dunne defense shined throughout the game, forcing four turnovers and keeping St. Pius contained. Senior Houston Little caught two of the three Panther interceptions. Senior Josh Drayden helped the Falcons pull away in the fourth quarter by returning a missed field goal to the St. Pius six yard line.

Bishop Dunne will face Plano Prestonwood on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at noon at Memorial Stadium in Bastrop, Texas. This will be the second year in a row the teams will be playing for the TAPPS Division I Championship. Last year Bishop Dunne won 41-10 in the Championship.
