Saturday, March 1, 8:00 - 10:00 pm - Folk Artist Andrew McKnight

Andrew McKnignt and Emmeline perform at the LWCH.  Andrew McKnight left his corporate environmental engineering career in 1996 and became an award-winning folk and Americana artist.  He has traveled over 500,000 miles of blue highways and his performances and CDs have earned him a wealth of critical acclaim and jubilant fans.

His musical talents, empathy and talent have led to a diverse range of subjects from “These Shoes” about the vulnerability of an illegal immigrant woman to “Diary” about what Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings wrote about their lives together.

McKnight has long advocated for preservation of American landscapes and heritage and often shares his talents to help with such programs as those for mental health and elderly care and from a California at-rich youth program to a Seattle food bank and a Massachusetts community radio station.

Emmeline opens the performance.  She is a pint-sized singer/songwriter from Dallas, TX who revels in big words, unconventional cords, and persistent melodies.  The Dallas Morning News labeled her “A Must-See Texas Artist” and Darryl Smyers of the Dallas Observer raves that Emmeline’s “straight-ahead take on folk/rock may actually be the best thing” on a bill of seasoned, signed artists.

Tickets are $12 in advance and may be ordered online $15 at the door; and $10 for students with an ID.  More information and advance tickets at http://www.labyrinthwalkcoffeehouse.com
