DASH FOR THE BEADS EVENT AWARDS $7,500 TO FIDO OAK CLIFF
May 1, 2012 – Dallas, Texas – The results are in! DASH FOR THE BEADS (DASH), the annual 5K Run/One-Mile Walk/Costume Contest/Family & Pet Friendly Festival, is pleased to announce a donation of $7,500 to FIDO Oak Cliff. The donation was a result of DASH’s 3rd annual community event held on Feb. 18, 2012 in the historic Bishop Arts District in Dallas, Texas.
DASH (www.DashForTheBeads.org), is a 501C3 non-profit organization with a tradition of supporting the beautification and urban grass-roots development efforts taking place the neighborhoods of Oak Cliff. The DASH initiative was founded in 2009 by “Cliff Dwellers” Chad A. West and David Sassano as a way to raise money for Oak Cliff organizations.
“David and I are very pleased with the turn-out this year, despite the rainy weather. We raised more money than ever before, and set a great tone for race registrations to double or even triple next year. Thank you to our runners, walkers, sponsors, and our volunteers!” said Chad A. West, co-founder of DASH FOR THE BEADS.
The 2012 DASH beneficiary is “Finding Inspired Dog Owners”, or FIDO Oak Cliff, a group of committed volunteers who will create Oak Cliff’s first dog park.
Congratulations go out to the winners of the DASH 5K run who were Kim Rogers-Tracy (women’s division) and Mike Hummer (men’s division).
