Kids will learn to play instruments and star in productions during Teatro Dallas' Summer Acting Camp.
Teatro Dallas' Summer Theater Program launches next week. The monthlong acting clinic, for kids ages 6 to 14, starts June 4 and ends July 7, from 9 a.m. to noon.
During five weeks the students participate in warm up exercises: dance, theatrical games, improvisational exercises, arts and crafts, and make up. The students develop their acting skills through games that explore the five senses, stimulating their imagination and creativity, while developing concentration and social skills.
The program culminates with a full production that includes three performances; one for children from another summer program, and two for their family members and friends. All these shows are free, allowing the students to explore the vital connection between performer and audience. All children participate in the development of the production (acting, building or painting their set, making props, music, etc) Classes are bilingual; helping to better familiarized the child to either English or Spanish.
$425 for 5-weeks of theater camp. (Materials/fees all included.) Discounted tuition for families with children of two or more |
