Willomet Home Wins Winnetka Heights Holiday Lights Competition

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Winnetka Heights neighborhood in Oak Cliff.

The neighborhood hosted its annual "Light Up The Heights" competition this past weekend where homes throughout the community were judged to see who has the best outdoor holiday lights setup.

This year, Ray Switzer and Michael Justus, who live in the 200 block of N. Willomet Avenue, won the competition for the lights outside of their home.

Second place was awarded to Chris Watts and Todd Fisher, who live in the 200 block of N. Windomere Avenue. Kirk and Joy Kirksey who live in the 100 block of S. Winnetka Avenue received the third place award.

Also, the 100-200 block of S. Willomet was named the best decorated block and will receive a free party from the Winnetka Heights Neighborhood Association. Congrats to all of the winners!

Other Award Recipients

  • The "Martha Stewart Oh So Tasteful" Award (for having the "most tasteful and elegant" lights): Rob Romano, who lives in the 300 block of S. Edgefield Avenue.
  • The "Clark W. Griswold" Award (for having the most "fun and funky" lights): The Carranza Family, who lives in the 100 block of S. Willomet Avenue.
