Oak Cliff resident John Wiley Price is being challenged by a former assistant for his Dallas County Commissioner seat, which is a position that he has held since 1985.

Betty Culbreath, who currently sits on the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport board and was formerly an assistant to Price for six years, announced that she will be running against him in the Democratic primary, according to reports.

"It's at the point now that we cannot allow our elected officials to continue to behave the way they are — behaving without any regard to their constituents," Culbreath said.

Price is currently under federal investigation for issues, including tax evasion, fraud and bribery.
