Even though it's only the beginning of the week, now is not too early to start finding fun things to do this upcoming weekend.

One event that's happening in Oak Cliff this weekend is singer/songwriter Ruthie Foster will be performing at 8 p.m. on Saturday at The Kessler Theater.

Foster, whose music has been described as "Texas Gospel" that zig zags between blues, soul and rock, recently released a new album titled Let it Burn, which debuted on three of Billboard's charts. The album features a variety of orginal songs in addition to covers by artists such as Adele, The Black Keys and Johnny Cash.
