The Kessler School started class this week with a host of new faces and traditions.

The biggest change is the school's new headmistress, Alison Beazley, who is already shaking things up at the private primary school in North Oak Cliff.

According to Michelle Barclay, a Kessler School staffer, each school day will start with an assembly at which children, teachers, and staff will go over "things like character traits and things like positive messages," she said.

Beazley, formerly of the Winston School, was named the Kessler School's new head of school last spring.
