Erica Felicella, a perennial Art Conspiracy contributor and well-known photographer, will stand in a plexiglass box for 48 hours for "Visible Shell," a performance art piece.

“Visible Shell speaks to the way we function as a society,” says Felicella. “Expressing your emotions is considered a weakness. As a whole we don’t take the time to sit still and experience our emotions anymore. It’s something I want people to reconsider.”

Felicella will stand in the box set up at 502 North Clinton Road for two whole days starting at 5 p.m. May 11, writing the same sentence over and over on paper until the box begins to fill with the crumpled notes. A team of medical professionals, as well as onlookers, will be on-site to monitor her progress.

When she's not collaborating with fellow Dallas artists, Felicella helps keep the Kettle Art gallery in Deep Ellum afloat, as well as producing an extensive body of solo work.
