Right in the middle of Dallas, the Oak Cliff Nature Preserve offers 121 acres of nature not normally found within a large urban area.  This Saturday, October 22, The Texas Land Conservancy will hold a volunteer day to make sure the Preserve is at its best so nature lovers throughout the community can enjoy the area.

Volunteers will be asked to clear brush and trash from the preserve and nature trails, as well as remove invasive plant species that destroy the native ecosystem.

For safety reasons, the Texas Land Conservancy asks that volunteers wear clothing appropriate for outdoor work, including long pants and closed-toed shoes.  Participants are asked to bring a refillable water bottle and work gloves, as well as loppers or small tree saws, if available.

The Texas Land Conservancy also asks for those with insect allergies to be prepared for ants and/or bees, and to take the necessary precautions before working in the Preserve.

For more information regarding the Oak Cliff Nature Preserve and volunteer opportunities, visit the Texas Land Conservancy website or RSVP with Callie Thompson via email at callie@texaslandconservancy.org.

The Oak Cliff Nature Preserve is located at 2875 Pierce Street.
