Dia de los Muertos Festival Being Hosted in Bishop Arts District

Families are invited to come enjoy an outdoor community celebration at the inaugural Dia de los Muertos Festival, which is being hosted from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 29 in the North Oak Cliff Library, located at 302 W. 10th Street in the Bishop Arts District.

Dia de los Muertos, which is Spanish for "Day of the Dead," is a Mexican holiday where individuals pray for and remember friends and ancestors who are deceased. At this year's inaugural festival celebrating the holiday, there will be a variety of family-friendly events, including a community offering, a graveyard that was made by local students, arts and crafts for children, live music and traditional Mexican dancing, local artwork on display, Mexican cuisine being served and more.

The event is free to attend, so be sure to come out and be a part of the celebration!
