Dr. Fouad Jaber to Speak at Dallas Sierra Club's Virtual Meeting on Dec. 8

Dr. Fouad Jaber, Urban Ecological Engineering Professor from Texas A&M AgriLife Dallas, will discuss "Green Infrastructure: Ecological Engineering and Urban Waters" at the Dallas Sierra Club's virtual general meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.

Cities face a slew of environmental and ecological problems as urban populations spike across the globe.  Addressing water quantity and quality issues the "usual way" has resulted in severe impairments of water bodies and other ecological disturbances: increased waste, increased need for energy, increased need of land for food, increased CO2 production, and disruption to wildlife corridors.

Dr Jaber's focus is on assessing the quality and efficiency of green infrastructure for stormwater management, urban water conservation, natural stream restoration, rainwater harvesting, and alternative water sources, such as graywater and A/C condensate.

All are welcome to attend. Join us from 6:45 to 7 p.m. to chat and ask questions before the meeting begins with announcements, followed by the speaker's presentation.
