FAITH FAMILY ACADEMY TAKES STUDENTS BEYOND THE CLASSROOM WITH EXPLORE360®

Faith Family Academy’s EXPLORE360 Adventure Learning is a one-of-a-kind outdoor education program connecting students with nature that underscores a “learning by doing” mentality. EXPLORE360 is fully integrated with Faith Family’s academic curriculum to combine classroom teaching with outdoor education and adventure experiences. No other program matches EXPLORE360 in scope or scale at a Texas public, charter or private school.

EXPLORE360’s progressive curriculum is designed to put learning into action, build confidence and foster leadership in students of every age. The 2021-2022 program kicks off with the 10th grade trip November 6-10 to Big Bend National Park. Students will spend 4 days developing outdoor living aptitudes while camping, hiking and canoeing against the backdrop of the Chisos Mountains.

“We have an extraordinary trip planned for our students and we are very proud that we have developed an unrivaled experience in Texas public school education,” said Mollie Purcell Mozley, Faith Family’s Superintendent of Schools. “Faith Family’s staff consulted with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to create a program focused on teaching safe and comfortable wilderness living while learning an appreciation of its beauty, a respect for nature’s interrelationships, and an understanding of the continued protection and preservation of the wilderness environment.”

Faith Family’s 2021-2022 school year will also introduce additional grade levels to outdoor experiences that include Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, TX Dinosaur Valley State Park and the Fort Worth Zoo. The school year will conclude with EXPLORE360’s senior trip May 1-6 to Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby, CO.

EXPLORE360 is funded partly through a U.S. Department of Education School Climate Transformation Grant which provides competitive grants to school programs that are implementing an evidence-based multi-tiered behavioral framework for improving behavioral outcomes and learning conditions for all students.
