The Bishop Arts District will get its own cider brewery in the coming months.

Just this week, Joel Malone announced Bishop Cider Company, a new establishment that plans to sell hard cider. 

Hard cider is an alcoholic drink that results from the fermentation of cider or fruit juice, the most prominent being made with apples or pears.

According to the brewery's Kickstarter page, its method of fundraising for national distribution of Bishop Cider Company's products, Malone and his wife, Laura, "have been making hard cider for quite a while now and realize the diversity and flavor potential." And the duo plans to exhibit that potential to Dallas cidar drinkers starting late April or May, when they hope to open their taproom to the public.
