On Sunday, head to Kessler Park United Methodist Church to fill your heart with holiday carols and then fill your belly with delicious food.

"'JOY!' is the second-annual holiday concert presented by the KPUMC Music Ministry," said Jonathan Palant, music ministry director. "Those who will perform have worked many hours preparing this festive music and so look forward to sharing it with our own congregation, but also with those in our community."

The event is free and open to the public, not just KPUMC members. The choir will supply the main dishes, but attendees are asked to bring sides, salads and desserts for the potluck dinner. The performance will start at 5:30 p.m. followed by the potluck.

"The program features Benjamin Britten's 'Ceremony of Carols' with harpist Naoko Nakamura," Palant said. "Of course, we will also sing Handel's 'Hallelujiah Chorus' and the audience will be invited to join in a little sing-along."

Kessler Park UMC, founded in 1925, is one of the oldest churches in Oak Cliff. Find out more about KPUMC at
