The Bridge Art Group Denny Doran and Davis Foundry Gallery owner Art Garcia flank one of the artists of the Bridge Homeless Shelter's art group.

What was once a small group of self-taught artists at Dallas' only homeless shelter has become a group that inspires one another to be more creative.

The Davis Foundry Gallery in North Oak Cliff will hang the works of The Bridge Art Group starting Dec. 15 with an artist reception at 6 p.m. The exhibition, which will feature drawings, paintings, and sculptures by clients of The Bridge Homeless Shelter, closes on Jan. 15.

"Formed three years ago initially as a drawing class, it quickly evolved into a forum for invention and production in a wide variety of media," a press release stated. "With a clear vision of their creative accomplishments, some with decades of skills, the group is guided by professional artists Denny Doran and Judy Culberson who provide opportunities for self-expression. While this holiday exhibit benefits the artists, the gallery will donate its entire commissions to The Bridge."

The Davis Foundry Gallery is located at 509 W. Davis St., Suite 100.
