Bishop Dunne Students Students from Bishop Dunne Catholic School donated more than 1,000 books to area elementary classes on Nov. 29 for their "First Read" event.

Bishop Dunne Catholic School in North Oak Cliff received almost 1,000 donated books on Nov. 29 and distributed them to 10 local elementary schools including St. Luke's in Irving, Our Lady of Perpetual Help near Love Field and Immaculate Conception in Grand Prairie.

First Read donates thousands of new books a year to lower income students so that they can have a book of their own at home to enjoy. The effort is the first of it's kind for Bishop Dunne, which reaches out to local Elementary Schools twice a year.
