Nine Texans Can Academy - Dallas Oak Cliff students recently graduated from the Mountain View College Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program. The program is seven weeks long and includes lectures, skills lab and clinic experience and is offered at no cost to the students.

Through the program, students receive hands-on experience and training, such as learning how to record blood pressures, how to assist to ambulate using a transfer belt, as well as many other hands-on and work experience skills. The certificate prepares students for a job as a CNA. CNAs provide basic patient care and typically work in clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, or long-term care facilities under the supervision of a registered nurse. The next step for these students now that they have completed the program is to take the state test to receive their CNA certification.
