Kidd Springs Central, the Friends of Kidd Springs Park community group, invites everyone to a pre-concert festival beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5 at Kidd Springs Park with food and beverage trucks, artisans, and activities for kids to welcome the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for their fifth year. The pre-concert festival starts at 6 p.m. with food and beverage trucks, artisan items for sale and community groups located in front of the Kidd Springs Pool. The Friends of Oak Cliff Parks will lead the children in the annual Ladybug Sprinkle in the Kidd Springs Butterfly Garden at 7 p.m., and the bounce house will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. Dallas Fire and Rescue will be on hand with their fire truck and to answer questions at 7:15 p.m. The DSO performs at 8 p.m. The concert is free. Local artisans and other neighborhood groups are invited to participate. All money raised benefits the Friends of Oak Cliff Parks.

“We need everyone to think no rain on Wednesday, June 5 and make plans to come out and listen to the Dallas Symphony, who for more than 20 years has been providing this wonderful concert series to the citizens of Dallas," said Delia Jasso, City Council Representative District One and resident of Kidd Springs. "I personally am very appreciative of the Kidd Springs Central community group for taking the initiative to encourage and support attendance by providing this pre-concert festival with food and fun for the family. The Lady Bug Sprinkle is a real favorite of mine. Pack a picnic, walk or ride your bike to Kidd Springs Park on June 5.”

Kidd Springs Central, Goodspace and the Kidd Springs Recreation Center are this year’s Pre-Concert Festival sponsors. Food trucks Naami Cruisin’ Vietnamese Fusion, Ssahm BBQ Gourmet Korean Tacos, Cool Haus gourmet ice cream sandwiches, and The Butcher’s Son will sell food and beverages. The Kidd Springs Central Pre-Concert Festival starts at 6 p.m. at Kidd Springs Park. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra free community concert starts at 8 p.m. In the event of rain, all activities and the concert will move indoors to the Kidd Springs Recreation Center.
