National Signing Day is Wednesday, Feb. 6 and six seniors from Bishop Dunne will be signing their letter of intent at a ceremony to be held in the school gym at 3900 Rugged Drive at 9:30 a.m.

Ishmael Wilson, a six-foot-five-inch, 300-pound lineman, will be signing with Texas A&M University. Wilson says he looks forward to protecting the “blind side” of Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Johnny “Johnny Football" Manziel.

Four other football players will be signing with their colleges:

Michael Andrews,Tabor College in Kansas; Deyleon Williams, Midwestern State University; Justin Hawthorne, William Jewell College in Missourri and Collin Horner, Crown College in Minnesota. Each had multiple offers.

Senior Chelsea Billups will be committing to Louisiana Tech as a soccer player.

In the last three weeks, several university coaches have come by to visit the Dunne campus, beginning with UT’s Mack Brown, followed by Baylor’s Art Briles, Nebraska’s Mark "Bo" Pelini, coach David Shaw from Stanford, Brady Hoke from Michigan, Jim Mora Jr. from UCLA, June Jones from SMU, Mark Helfrich from Oregon, Kirk Ferentz from Iowa and Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly.

Three of Dunne's football players were signed to colleges last year, with 2012 graduate Alex Norman going to UT and Thomas Cook Jr. breaking records and receiving awards as a true freshman at William Jewell College, where he was named to the Beyond Sports College Network Division II ALL-American Team.

Four of Bishop Dunne's current football coaching staff attended and played at Louisiana Tech together, including Head Coach Michael Johnson. Dunne's Athletic Director, Kenneth Davis, broke records as a running back at TCU before going on to play professional ball for nine years for both the Green Bay Packers and the Buffalo Bills.
