Bishop Dunne's varsity girls basketball team defeated Ursuline 52-49 last week in the team's first district victory of the season.

According to school officials, the win may be the first ever over Ursuline since Bishop Dunne gained 5A classification. It's a heartening sign of a rebuilding team, as it is the varsity girls squad's first district win in two years. 

Despite a conference loss to John Paul II on Friday, the girls team is looking to improve under the tutelage of coach Dewey Wakefield.
