Faith Family Academy (FFA) is honored to announce that its NJROTC unit and its 160-plus cadets have earned the Distinguished Unit Award with Honors for a second year. In 2021, the FFA NJROTC transitioned from NNDCC unit to JROTC and received the Distinguished Unit honor as the first public charter school unit in the country to earn such recognition in its first year as JROTC and only third year in existence.
Superior performance and outstanding achievement in academics, physical fitness and marksmanship, involvement in community service and participation in area and regional meets/competitions, is the basis of this prestigious award. The area manager determines the top 30% of host schools to receive the Distinguished Unit Award, and instructors also receive acknowledgment for their support in these activities.
"The Distinguished Unit Award with Honors affords Faith Family Academy’s NJROTC unit to nominate up to three eligible cadets as candidates to the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Military Academy and U.S. Air Force Academy,” said LCDR John Klag, Faith Family Academy. This tremendous accomplishment reinforces Faith Family Academy’s mission to educate, empower and inspire every child for lifelong success. This achievement is shared with the cadets’ families, the district and Faith Family Academy’s administration.
