In The Beats We Trust Project presents:
Stop the Genocide! Support Indigenous People and Ways of Life.
In The Beats We Trust is intercultural and supports the empowerment of the Avá Guaraní of the Paraná River coast, living precariously on the roadside or crammed into small plots of land. Their ancestral rituals, as they dance and sing together, enable them to unload the weight of their struggle.

TaKeTiNa Rhythm Meditation, Drum Jam and Musical Evening event to support the work of In The Beats We Trust.
This is a non-profit event to help us keep bringing these events to you while fighting against Indigenous Genocide within the Atlantic Forest.
In The Beats We Trust is intercultural and supports the empowerment of the Avá Guaraní of the Paraná River coast, living precariously on the roadside or crammed into small plots of land. Their ancestral rituals, as they dance and sing together, enable them to unload the weight of their struggle.
The Avá Guarani Communities from Paraguay are taking action to reverse the ethnocide that they are facing. Their communities are being displaced and many have been evicted from their lands, but they are returning and gathering as a form of cultural resistance and reaffirmation of their very existence and Ancestral way of life, wisdom, and spirituality.
A minimum $25.00 donation is requested to help cover the food and other expenses
We have special guest and Board-Certified Music Therapist Michael Kenny leading us in a community TaKeTiNa event, a rhythm meditation dance journey through sound; an experience to stimulate your mind and body unlike any other, perfect for people who like to express themselves through dance, yoga, singing, music, and laughter!
This Moving meditation will be followed by a drum jam, followed by a multi-instrument improvisational jam. Extra instrument will be available!
About TaKeTiNa: No experience necessary! Family friendly! This is a "success oriented" fun time. Michael is skilled at making everyone feel included and a part of the group creative experience. Every session is a journey to the heart of rhythm, building excitement and community, and connecting deeply to ourselves and each other.
We will continue to ride this wave, transitioning to percussive instruments and building to a crescendo! We will continue build off this vibe with melodic instruments and voice, later on flowing into a free form jam. Join us for this experience (and experiment) as we co-create with one another. We invite you to lean into your edges, dance, play and have fun along the way!

This evening is not about performance but a co-creative experience open to participants of all levels. The energies flow between music, dance, and what is in your Heart.
You do not have to be a musician or dancer - simply open and let yourself be moved by the Spirit of the beats. Prepare to be unprepared for the energies seeking to move through you as we open our hearts to the alchemy of Communion. The rhythm of the beats carries the power of transformation.
All attendees will receive a link to download the Ancient Sacred Songs from Ava Guarani that are over a Millennia old and that are used to connect with the earth, nature, and all living things past, present, and future.
More information about the situation with the Ava Guarani is available on the Facebook event page.
