Corner Store hosted a grand opening on Feb. 27 for its newest location in Dallas in the Oak Cliff neighborhood.

At 4,683 square feet, the store has a clean, modern interior and features indoor and outdoor dining, an ATM, a beer cave, E85 and diesel fuel. The new store is Corner Store’s 12th in Dallas.

During the opening, Corner Store team members and volunteers washed windows and pumped gas for patrons, offered free samples of fresh-baked sausage kolaches and cookies from Corner Store’s signature Fresh Choices brand and gave out free Flavors2Go fountain drinks and Cibolo Mountain coffee.

Brandon Frampton, manager of regional merchandising for Corner Store, and Duane Tabor, zone manager, presented a check for $5,000 to a 5th grade technology class at nearby Louise Wolff Kahn Elementary School to show the company’s commitment to the community.

“At Corner Store, we want to be team players in the communities we serve,” said Kim Bowers, president and CEO of CST Brands, Corner Store’s parent company. “Our Team Members (employees) build strong relationships with customers and we are excited to meet and get to know the wonderful people of Oak Cliff.”

Sarah Perez, a 13-year team member, will serve as store manager.

This year, CST Brands plans to build 30 brand new stores in the U.S., adding to its network of 1,038 stores throughout Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona and California. More than half of CST’s U.S. stores are located in Texas, one of the fastest-growing states in the nation.

The new stores are larger with ample parking, colorful and spacious design, and a wider variety of food options. Most are equipped with kitchens to prepare breakfast tacos with homemade tortillas, empanadas, whoopie pies, cookies, doughnuts, savory kolaches and other items in the store’s signature food line, Fresh Choices.

Other options include grilled sausages and all-beef hot dogs with white or wheat buns, fresh-cut fruit and salads. In addition, the store will carry signature products such as Fresh Choices nuts and snack mixes, U Force energy and sport drinks, Cibolo Mountain coffee, FC bottled soda and Flavors2Go fountain drinks.

With nearly 1,900 sites in the United States and Canada and $13.1 billion in revenues in 2012, Corner Store’s parent company, CST Brands, is the second-largest publicly-traded fuel and convenience merchandise retailer in North America.

In the U.S., CST’s Corner Stores sell Valero fuels and a line of 185 signature products. In Canada, CST is the exclusive provider of Ultramar fuels and its Dépanneur du Coin and Corner Stores sell signature Transit Café coffee and pastries.
