The Countdown Begins!

Ninth Annual No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party

Giving has never tasted so sweet. In less than four weeks, AIDS Services of Dallas will host their ninth annual No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party, an evening of progressive dinners followed by a huge dessert party with a fabulous live and silent auction, DJ, dancing, cocktails, and plenty of desserts. 18 of the 70 dinner hosts live in Oak Cliff and will open up their homes to friends and family to raise funds for AIDS Services of Dallas, which provides housing and supportive services for low-income and formerly homeless men, women, children, and families living with HIV/AIDS.

The casual gala, themed “La Dolce Vita” and led by an amazing cast including Honorary Chair LeeAnne Locken and Co-Chairs David Nelson and Dennis Kershner, begins with an invite-only progressive dinner, housed at one of approximately 70 DFW locations, followed by the very public dessert party. There will be an estimated 2,000 guests and 200 volunteers in attendance.

The “La Dolce Vita” theme, or “The Sweet Life,” couldn’t be more appropriate with over a dozen dessert sponsors of the finest restaurants and caterers like Dallas Affaires Cake Company, Frosted Art, Komali, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Hillstone, Jim Lee Events, Two Sisters Catering, Baby Cakes and many, many more. Guests can choose their own delightful liquid sensation at the signature Adult Italian Soda Bar sponsored by Reyka Vodka or sip one of their favorite classics made by Hendrick’s Gin, Tullamore D.E.W., Monkey Shoulder Whisky, or Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum. Entertainment producer extraordinaire Rob Cahill is coordinating a surprise Fellini-esque performance of fantasy, glam and beauty, while DJ Mr. Rid controls the turntables. Paparazzi welcome.

Over 300 items are expected for the auctions including the weekend rental of a Lamborghini or Ferrari by Platinum Motorcars and a complete “Landsculpture” including consultation, master plan design and $500 toward landscape-related services.  Multiple vacation packages will be showcased, such as a five-night stay at a condo in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, deluxe accommodations for two at The Westin Copley Place in Boston, and the grand getaway – a five-night stay in a signature suite including full body massage treatment, airfare and round trip airport hotel transfers for two to Maruba Resort Jungle Spa in Belize.

No Tie Dinner & Dessert Party will be held on Saturday, April 12, starting at 7 p.m. at The Frontiers of Flight Museum (6911 Lemmon Avenue, Dallas 75209). Ticket donations are recommended at a minimum of $50 and can be purchased online at www.notiedinner.org. Register before midnight on March 19 to enter to win two tickets to the Cher “Dressed to Kill” concert at American Airlines Center on March 26. Dinner hosts, sponsorships, and auction donations are still being accepted.
