On Tuesday, April 11, high school students from Tyler Street Christian Academy visited the North Texas Food Bank for their day of service. Students sorted food, filled bags with items such as cereal, juice, milk, and sunflower seeds, and packed boxes for distribution. Altogether, students sorted, filled, and packed an equivalent of almost 10,000 meals which will be distributed to children, seniors, and families in need.

The North Texas Food Bank provides 190,000 meals per day, and some 70 million meals a year. By 2025, NTFB hopes to provide 92 million meals per year in an effort to combat food insecurity in North Texas.

In addition to volunteering with the NTFB, TSCA students also held their annual canned food drive in November, in which students collected more than 2,000 cans to battle hunger in their community. Food collected during the drive was distributed to several food pantries within the community.
