Tyler Street Christian Academy, a K through 12th-grade non-denominational private school in North Oak Cliff, begins each new year with a bang. The Back to School Celebration Rally is Aug. 29 at 8:20 a.m. and is open to the public. For those who want to attend, the TSCA-Hillcrest Gymnasium located on West Ninth at Tyler Street.

A school of splendid diversity, TSCA is celebrating 40 years of serving families from all over the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Superintendent Karen J. Egger, who also serves as elementary principal, has seen both her children graduate from the TSCA, from college, and move on to successful careers.

“With school starting and so much happening in our lives, I am still just as excited as I was on my first day about the opportunities and possibilities a new school year offers each child," Egger said. "You can see it every year on the students’ and parents’ faces — the promise of a new beginning and high expectations.”

Tyler Street has many staff members that have served for 10, 20, and some more than 30 years, but there are also young, fresh faces with new enthusiasm and ideas. Patricia Hernandez, who retired once and quickly returned the next year to TSCA said, “I came back because my husband and I just love these kids. Our children graduated TSCA and now our grandsons attend the Academy. I am so blessed to see what they learn every day, how loved they are, and to witness their spiritual journey on a daily basis.”

A safe and secure campus located at 915 West Ninth Street Dallas, Texas 75208, TSCA focuses on innovation, integrity, faith, service, and excellence in a loving nurturing environment. For more information check www.tsca.org or call 214-941-9717.
