Looking to have your work hung in Turner House as part of their permanent collection? The home of the Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts is hosting its first ever juried art competition to celebrate it's 100th birthday, and only Oak Cliff artists are eligible to win.

The deadline for the Sept. 21 and 22 exhibition is Aug. 17, and applicants are limited to five submissions each. Each submission will cost $10.

Jurors are looking for works that visualize a century of Oak Cliff and Dallas history, including the past, present and future. If you live, work, or are a business owner in Oak Cliff, you can submit an original, handmade work of art, including fabric, sculpture, photography, printmaking, painting, and mixed media. No films or video will be accepted.

Guest jurors include Oak Cliff's own Lisa Taylor, who is the Dallas Art Dealers Association executive director, as well as Craighead Green gallery co-owner Kenneth Craighead and UTA gallery director Benito Huerta.

Taylor is very active in the Oak Cliff art scene and is "so glad to be part of The Turner House's efforts in celebrating Oak Cliff art!"

The winning artwork, which will become a part of Turner House's permanent collection, will receive a $500 purchase prize.

To find out more, and to submit an application, visit Turner House online.

Turner House is located at 401 N. Rosemont Avenue in Winnetka Heights.
